Role Overview: Weekend Nurse Practitioner Opportunity — Richmond, VA
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Richmond team for weekend coverage. This role focuses on delivering high-quality clinical care within post-acute and long-term care facilities during weekend shifts, collaborating with onsite staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities — Weekend NP, Post-Acute Care
Conduct timely and thorough assessments for residents presenting with acute or chronic medical concerns during weekend coverage
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, appropriate to the post-acute population
Manage acute issues, provide urgent care as needed, and arrange appropriate follow-up with primary teams or facility providers
Collaborate closely with nursing staff, primary care providers, social workers and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate weekend care and transitions
Monitor medication efficacy and safety; identify and manage adverse effects and medication interactions
Document clinical encounters accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and communicate relevant updates to weekday clinicians
Participate in facility rounds and handovers to ensure continuity of care and clear communication across teams
Provide education and guidance to facility staff and families on acute care management and appropriate escalation pathways
Essential Qualifications and Skills — Weekend NP, Richmond VA
Master’s or Doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
Active and unrestricted Virginia Nurse Practitioner license and current DEA registration where applicable
Experience in post-acute, long-term care, urgent care or acute care settings preferred
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills with the ability to manage common acute presentations independently on weekends
Proficient with EMR systems and timely clinical documentation
Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and facility staff
Demonstrated professionalism, compassion and commitment to patient-centered care
